Neutron reflectometry is essential to study surface structures in depth and applicable to wide range of surfaces including softmatter interfaces and magnetic thin films. This presentation describes the principle and some applications of neutron reflectometry and introduces the polarized neutron reflectometer "Sharaku" (BL17) of J-PARC/MLF.
